Glossary:Endurance

Unlike a hard disk, the memory cells in a solid state disk (SSD) are degraded slightly every time they are written to. The Endurace of an SSD is the total amount of data that you can expect to be able to write to it in its useful lifetime. This will be many times its actual capacity.
