Peut-être que le premier indice vient de leur temps - généralement mauvais. S'il ne pleut pas, il y a du brouillard, parfois du grésil mais quasiment jamais assez de neige pour le ski. Voilà sans doute l’origine du « stiff upper lip » - le fameux flegme britannique.
