Glossary:Reverse defenestration

Reverse defenestration is a term used to describe the process of throwing Windows out of computers. This is generally in order to install Linux or some other non-Microsoft operating system instead. In partial reverse defenestration, a Windows installation may remain in a dual-boot configuration or as a virtual machine but this is not admitted as true reverse defenestration by purists, who prefer radical reverse defenestration, leaving behind no vestiges of Windows.
