Glossary:DNS
DNS or the Domain Name System is the Internet-wide distributed system for looking up the IP address of a domain, such as restarters.net, required for routing data. Your computer queries a pre-configured DNS server which in turn queries other DNS servers for IP addresses it doesn't already know.
