Glossary:Microprocessor
A Microprocessor or MPU (MicroProcessor Unit) is the compete central processor of a computer on a single silicon chip, or in the case of a high-end microprocessor, possibly more than one chip in a single package. Additional components are required to provide program and data storage and peripheral functions such as input and output.
