Quantum Mechanics (or QM for short) is the counter-intuitive theory of how things behave at the atomic and sub-atomic levels. It has passed every test physicists have thrown at it, yet nobody understands it, only how to use its predictions to design lasers and silicon chips and all the modern gadgets that depend on them.
