TOR (The Onion Router) is a method of hiding your location as you browse the Internet. Your data is encrypted with several successive layers of encryption and then passed through a series of routers. Each router peels off one layer of encryption (like layers of an onion) using an encryption key known only to itself. Thus, each router only knows its predecessor and successor, and the final destination cannot determine the originator.
